Manager, Student Initiatives

The Ohio Society of CPAs is seeking a Manager, Student Initiatives for their organization.

Job responsibilities:

This position will: 

  • Coordinate six to eight (6 - 8) Accounting Career Day programs across the state that encourage high school students to pursue a career in accounting
  • Grow student engagement, both at the high school and college level, within The Ohio Society of CPAs and The Ohio CPA Foundation
  • In collaboration with the OSCPA Learning Team, coordinate and oversee volunteer participation in student outreach programs
  • Train and supervise 18 to 20 on-campus student ambassadors employed by The Ohio CPA Foundation to promote CPA career paths and OSCPA membership to Ohio college students
  • Provide presentations to students, educators and organizations on OSCPA programming and initiatives
  • Plan programs and activities that engage underrepresented high school and college students in OSCPA activities and encourage pursuit of the accounting major and CPA credential
  • Develop partnerships with on-campus organizations to reach underrepresented student groups with CPA-career resources programming
  • Plan events to connect students and educators with CPAs for networking, career search and professional development opportunities
  • Work with Young CPA Leadership Board to identify activities that will grow student membership and engagement in OSCPA activities and resources
  • Conduct participant and volunteer surveys to measure effectiveness and improve student initiatives programs

Preferred education and experience requirements:

  • One to three (1-3) years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Ability to develop and implement clear and detailed program plans
  • Excellent writing, communications and public speaking skills
  • Experience in volunteer management and coordination
  • Exceptional organization and time and project management skills
  • Knowledge and proficiency in current Windows operating systems, current Microsoft Office products and general knowledge of customer database applications
  • Regular travel within Ohio required; some travel outside of Ohio possible
