Member Experience Coordinator

Ohio Funeral Directors Association | Columbus, OH

Position Summary: 

The Ohio Funeral Directors Association is looking for an expert multi-tasker with excellent communication skills and an upbeat attitude. The coordinator performs a wide range of administrative and front office support activities to facilitate the efficient and responsive operation of the association with opportunities in communications and committee leadership. This is an excellent position for a polite and professional individual who would like to join a fast‐paced, growing Association and be an integral member of the team.

Responsibilities:

  • General office administrative functions such as greeting guests, answering phones, filing,
    copying, mailings, and other special projects as assigned
  • Composes, edits, and proofreads correspondence, presentations and reports, and prepares a
    variety of administrative documents
    Interacts professionally with all members using exceptional customer service skills
  • Creates website postings utilizing membership database platform (WebSuite2) and other
    electronic communications and social media postings
  • Responsible for ordering and inventory of building supplies, operation and maintenance of
    office equipment and assistance with overall operations of headquarter facility
  • Schedules appointments, office meetings and staff travel as necessary
  • Work directly with committee chairs for planning and scheduling and acts as the staff liaison for
    the Young Funeral Directors committee and group
  • Assist with planning and logistics of member‐based educational events, annual convention and
    online learning
  • Active editor with the association’s quarterly print publication
  • Identified and performs as an integral member of the Association team, supporting and leading
    efforts as identified by the Executive Director

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required. Additional education/training preferred
  • Two plus years administrative experience in an office environment desired
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required
  • Knowledge in database management systems and design software desired
  • Experience association management software desired
  • Proven organization and time management skills, ability to multitask with attention to detail and
    accuracy
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality on a wide range of issues as well as excellent interpersonal,
    written, and verbal communication skills
  • Possess desire to be proactive and create a positive experience for others
  • Demonstrates creative, preemptive, and problem‐solving demeanor
  • Ability to work effectively independently and as a member of a team
