Don’t Miss the Special Tax Policy Session at ASAE25 in L.A.

This is a must-attend session for any leader invested in the policy landscape

Heading to ASAE’s 2025 Annual Meeting & Exposition in Los Angeles next month? Make sure to include one of this year’s most important sessions on your agenda: a special policy briefing on the major victories secured for associations and nonprofits in the sweeping tax legislation signed into law by President Donald Trump last week.

Led by ASAE’s Public Policy team, this timely session will take place Aug. 10, 2 p.m.-3 p.m. PT, in Room 408A at the Los Angeles Convention Center. The session will spotlight how ASAE-led coalitions played a pivotal role in shaping the final bill:

  • The Community Impact Coalition, on which OSAP President & CEO Jarrod A. Clabaugh, CAE serves as a steering committee member, successfully blocked harmful provisions that would have imposed additional taxes on nonprofit organizations.

  • The Tomorrow’s Workforce Coalition, in which OSAP has been engaged for several years, championed the inclusion of a key workforce development provision that expands the use of 529 education savings plans to cover postsecondary training, licenses, and nongovernmental certifications — a win for upskilling the association and nonprofit workforce.

Join Mary Kate Cunningham, CAE, ASAE’s chief public policy and governance officer, and Kyle Hayes, ASAE's senior director of public policy, for a dynamic conversation on how these coalitions were mobilized to protect the interests of associations — and how they will continue to serve as powerful advocacy vehicles in the future.

This is a must-attend session for any leader invested in the policy landscape shaping our sector. Come ready to learn, ask questions, and walk away with actionable insights into how ASAE is safeguarding the future of associations through coalition-driven advocacy.
