Ohio University's Social Media Efforts Are Leading the Nation

The university went from 189 to no. 6

Ohio University’s social media efforts have been ranked sixth in the nation among NCAA Division I colleges and universities.

In Rival IQ’s 2020 Higher Education Social Media Engagement Report, OHIO is ranked No. 6 overall, No. 4 on Twitter, No. 12 on Facebook and No. 31 on Instagram. 

The report surveyed the Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts of 338 colleges and universities between June 1, 2019, and May 31, 2020, generating an overall engagement ranking for each institution. According to Rival IQ, the top-ranked institutions have high engagement rates on their social media accounts with average or better audience size and posting volumes. In the 2019 report, OHIO ranked No. 189 overall, No. 299 on Twitter, No. 233 on Facebook and No. 39 on Instagram.
