Authorities located a vehicle belonging to Vance Luther Boelter in the Green Isle area, about 45 miles southwest of Minneapolis, where Boelter is suspected of shooting two Minnesota lawmakers and their spouses at their homes Saturday.
As law enforcement blocked state highways and searched for Boelter on Sunday, the suspect’s roommate shared more details about Boelter’s life, including his dream of starting an armed security company that failed to get off the ground and his born-again Christian background.
The FBI offered a $50,000 reward for information on Boelter, 57, as authorities search for the 6-foot-1, 220-pound man suspected in the fatal shootings of Melissa Hortman, a top Democrat in the Minnesota Capitol, and her husband, Mark, in the Minneapolis suburb of Brooklyn Park. Boelter is also suspected in the shooting that injured Democratic state Sen. John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette, in Champlin, another suburb.
