Events Manager

Position Summary:

The Ohio Association for Justice (OAJ) is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented events manager to join our team. The events manager will be responsible for planning and executing a variety of events, including the annual convention, winter convention, board meetings, social in-person events and online webinars to support the mission and membership of OAJ.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage, plan and oversee the OAJ annual and winter conventions and other in-person OAJ events including: site location, food and materials budgeting, attendance tracking, day-of coordination, etc.
  • Coordinate with speakers, leaders, sponsors and exhibitors to ensure their participation and support
  • Develop event budgets and manage expenses to ensure events are cost-effective
  • Plan and oversee online events such as webinars
  • Maintain the annual OAJ events calendar through coordination with both the CEO and staff, association committee members, and other members of the board of trustees
  • Ensure proper applications for CLE accreditation from the Ohio Supreme Court for OAJ programs whenever necessary
  • Coordinate and oversee the completion of special projects and perform other related duties as directed

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Event planning experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Self-starter focused on completing tasks in a timely manner and of the highest quality
  • Ability to provide the highest level of customer service and professionalism to OAJ’s attorney members
  • Detail oriented and highly organized
  • Ability to work as a team member in a small staff environment
  • Some in-state travel required
