A TikTok ban of some variety might be closer than you think.

The Senate is back to work this week, and Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) signaled in a recent statement that Congress is inching closer to "a path forward on TikTok legislation." As a refresh: A few weeks ago, the House approved a bill that would ban TikTok in the United States if the Chinese-owned company fails to sell itself to a non-Chinese entity within six months. Side note: Financial experts have agreed that a six-month timeline for a deal of TikTok's size is... unsavory.
