Event Details

According to Wikipedia, Indigenous Peoples' Day is an official city and state holiday in various localities in the United States that honors Indigenous American peoples (First Americans) and commemorates their histories and cultures. It is celebrated on the second Monday in October.

Meanwhile, Columbus Day is a holiday in the United States and many countries of the Americas and elsewhere, and is a federal holiday in the United States, officially celebrating the anniversary of Christopher Columbus's arrival in the Americas. Wikipedia indicates that Columbus went ashore at Guanahaní, an island in the Bahamas, on Oct. 12, 1492. He built La Navidad on the northwestern coast of the island of Hispaniola in late December 1492.

The OSAP and OSAP Foundation celebrate this day annually. Our offices will reopen on the following Tuesday.
