After a Sultry Stretch, Refreshingly Cooler Air Is headed to the East, Midwest
After a sultry stretch, weather conditions in parts of the East Midwest are about to get more refreshing for the final week of the astronomical spring season.
In D.C., a streak of five days with temperatures at or above 90 degrees will come to an end on Monday as much less humid air blows in. That stretch also included the city's first 100-degree day since 2024, which was recorded Friday at Reagan National Airport.
Meanwhile, in the Midwest, where June has been hot so far, high temperatures in Chicago, Detroit and Minneapolis will remain in the 70s for much of the week — below or well below seasonal averages.
