Despite a Massive $6 Billion Quarterly Income, Why Oracle Is Cutting 30,000 Jobs
Oracle is joining a growing wave of tech companies cutting jobs as they pour billions into artificial intelligence (AI).
This morning, the company began implementing sweeping layoffs across multiple regions and divisions, according to internal communications reviewed by Business Insider. "After careful consideration of Oracle’s current business needs, we have made the decision to eliminate your role as part of a broader organizational change," the email read. "As a result, today is your last working day."
The move mirrors a broader shift across Big Tech. Amazon said in January it would eliminate about 16,000 corporate roles after cutting 14,000 jobs months earlier. Meta has also resumed layoffs, trimming hundreds of employees after years of workforce reductions.
