Flash Flood Threat Targets Midwest before Heading to Northeast

A flash flood threat is on the move, heading to Minnesota and Wisconsin on Friday before targeting Chicago then Cleveland and then New York City.

A level 2 out of 4 flash flood threat is in place from South Dakota to Illinois on Friday, including the cities of Minneapolis, Milwaukee and Madison, Wisconsin. The threat for wind, hail and tornadoes remains low.

Showers are already underway in South Dakota and will continue through the day, with another heavy round of rain hitting southern Minnesota, northern Iowa, Wisconsin, and northern Illinois overnight. Milwaukee will face its heaviest rain overnight. By Saturday morning, the heavy rain could reach Chicago, causing issues on roadways.
