Kevin Serafino Receives American Bar Association’s 2026 Outstanding Nonprofit Lawyer Award

News,

Tenenbaum Law Group (TLG) Associate Kevin Serafino has received the American Bar Association’s (ABA) 2026 Outstanding Nonprofit Lawyer Award in the Young Attorney category. The Young Attorney award is presented by the ABA’s nonprofit organizations committee to one attorney each year nationwide through a competitive nomination process. The Young Attorney category is reserved for attorneys who are under age 35 or in practice less than 10 years.

The nonprofit organizations committee of the ABA’s Business Law Section awards the Outstanding Nonprofit Lawyer Awards annually to attorneys who have made outstanding contributions to the nonprofit sector and/or the development of nonprofit law in five distinct categories. The committee focuses on attorneys whose accomplishments are primarily in providing legal services and counseling to nonprofit entities as clients, rather than in representation of needy individuals. The criteria are as follows:

  1. Made significant contributions to one or more nonprofit organizations while acting in a legal role (i.e., not solely as an officer or director);
  2. Increased the understanding of legal issues affecting nonprofit organizations (including through articles, books, speeches, academic courses and committees/task forces considering laws applicable to nonprofit organizations);
  3. Demonstrated commitment to serving the legal needs of the nonprofit sector; or
  4. Developed innovative approaches to nonprofit legal or organizational issues.

"Kevin has become an instrumental member of the TLG team since joining us in 2024 and we could not be more proud of him receiving this incredibly well-deserved honor and recognition," said TLG Managing Partner Jeff Tenenbaum. "Kevin is deeply committed to the nonprofit legal profession and plans on spending his career in the space. He is extremely well respected and liked by his colleagues; is developing a strong reputation in [the] the association and nonprofit community, continues to learn and grow from his more-senior colleagues and demonstrates leadership potential that will no doubt translate into him being a future leader in the nonprofit legal world."
