Northeast Ohio Sheriff Warns of ‘Large-scale Financial Fraud’

Several businesses throughout Geauga County have recently fallen victim to large-scale financial fraud.

Geauga County Sheriff Scott Hildenbrand said the businesses received an email containing a link that appeared to come from their financial institution.

Once they clicked the link and entered their login credentials, scammers gained access to the account. The scammers then were able to transfer the money into their own accounts.
