Ohio Kicks off Summer Travel Season Week Early with Tourism Day at Statehouse

The Ohio Department of Development and TourismOhio launched the summer travel season Tuesday on the west lawn of the Ohio Statehouse, bringing together more than 140 vendors showcasing destinations, attractions and businesses from across the state.

Convention and visitors bureaus, historical societies and small businesses set up booths to pitch their corners of the Buckeye State to attendees — drawing hundreds of visitors and turning Tourism Day into a crowded attraction in its own right.

Frankie Baer, of Dublin, came with a clear purpose.
