Poll Finds Most Americans Are Concerned about Political Pressure on Elections

Americans of both parties are concerned about election integrity and democratic processes ahead of the midterm elections, a new Gallup poll shows.

Sixty-seven percent of Americans are concerned about political leaders pressuring election officials to change election outcomes, according to the poll, including 77 percent of Democrats and 56 percent of Republicans. More Republicans, 66 percent, said they were concerned about ballots being improperly handled, counted or secured, compared with 52 percent of Democrats.

The poll found that most Americans, including 78 percent of Republicans, are also concerned with ineligible voters casting ballots in elections.
