Subaru of America Is Recalling More than 541,000 of its SUVs
Subaru of America is recalling more than 541,000 of its Crosstrek, Forester and Ascent SUVs due to an inaccurate label attached to the vehicles.
According to a notice published by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) this week, the now-recalled vehicles were made with a certification label that incorrectly states their gross axle weight rating (GAWR), which reflects the maximum weight that each axle of a vehicle can support.
The NHTSA warns a wrong GAWR label "may lead to an overloaded vehicle," which could increase the likelihood of a crash.
