Most manufacturing leaders have a clear picture of their workforce numbers. They know how many employees are on staff, how many positions are open and how quickly new hires are moving through onboarding. Productivity metrics show whether people are hitting targets, and turnover numbers help leadership track stability.

From a distance, the operations look comparable, but the difference often comes down to the amount of lived experience inside the workforce.
