Gen-Z and Millennials have been saying it for years: College degrees aren't worth the paper on which they're printed, the payoff for graduates entering the job market is dwarfed by their Everest-like mountain of student loan debt, and all the platitudes about the value of higher education are overblown and pretty much worthless in the real world.

A deep dive into 20 years of data compiled by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reveals earners of bachelor's degrees and higher have the lowest unemployment rate among workers 25 years of age and older—a mere 2.8 percent last month.
