Travel Industry Sets Goal of 100 Million International Visitors by 2030
Earlier this month, U.S. Travel Association (USTA) President and CEO Geoff Freeman and 11 travel industry CEOs met with President Donald Trump at the White House to discuss strengthening international inbound travel.
Building on the global attention generated by the World Cup, America’s 250th anniversary and a strong summer travel season, industry leaders set a goal of welcoming 100 million international visitors annually by 2030; this would be an achievement projected to generate $81 billion in additional visitor spending and support more than 400,000 American jobs.
The goal comes as the United States works to regain lost ground in the international travel market. U.S. Travel is calling for policies that make visiting the United States easier, faster and more appealing, including limiting added visa costs, restoring Brand USA funding and directing passenger security fees toward modern screening technology.
