US Marshals Find 79 Missing Children in Ohio during Largest Operation of its Kind

The U.S. Marshals Service located 79 children reported missing or endangered across Ohio during a monthlong operation that officials described as the largest missing-child operation in the state's history.

"Operation Meridian" was conducted throughout August by the U.S. Marshals Service in coordination with federal, state and local law enforcement agencies. The children located ranged in age from 6 to 17, according to U.S. Marshals officials.

The operation focused on children reported missing under a variety of circumstances, including suspected sex trafficking, physical and emotional abuse, neglect, running away and other forms of endangerment.
