USPS Announces Temporary Rate Increases for the Holiday Season

The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) is planning to increase rates for peak holiday season.

The proposal is being reviewed by the Postal Regulatory Commission and is awaiting final approval.  

If the commission approves the plan, the temporary rate increase would take effect from Oct. 4, 2026, until Jan. 17, 2027. Over the past ten years, the price of stamps has already rose by 35 cents.
