ACA Tax Credit Negotiations Have Stalled
Negotiators on both sides of the aisle say that the prospects to renew Affordable Care Act (ACA) tax credits are increasingly bleak. But Democrats and Republicans involved in the health care talks cite different reasons for why things fell apart.
A bipartisan Senate group, led by Senators Bernie Moreno (D-VT) and Susan Collins (R-ME), has been working to finalize legislative text to revive the ACA subsidies, which expired at the end of 2025.
The group began its effort after debate over the subsidies led to the longest government shutdown in history.
