Membership Manager

OSCPA is seeking a Membership Manager.
Position Summary
The Membership Manager serves as a primary relationship lead for The Ohio Society of CPAs (OSCPA) members, acting as a trusted point of contact, advocate, and connector within the organization. This role blends relationship management, member engagement, and operational coordination to ensure a high-quality member experience across the full membership lifecycle from onboarding and engagement through retention.
This individual will have strong visibility within the profession, represent the association in member interactions, and work cross-functionally with internal teams and external marketing partners to support retention, engagement, and growth efforts.
Key Responsibilities
Member Relationships & Experience
- Serve as a primary, visible point of contact for OSCPA members, building trusted, long-term relationships and representing the association within the profession
- Support onboarding, ongoing engagement, and issue resolution in partnership with the Member Services team
- Focus is on individual membership - retention and heavily on acquisition. Opportunity to support organizational growth may be available depending on interest and experience levels.
Acquisition, Engagement & Retention Support
- Discover opportunities and drive efforts to expand membership reach, including and beyond CPAs. This is our #1 goal.
- Proactively engage members to understand needs, goals, and opportunities for deeper involvement
- Identify and support initiatives that drive participation, satisfaction, and retention
- Gather and share member feedback and insights to inform engagement strategies
Internal & External Coordination
- Monitor and track metrics on marketing efforts, being able to pivot if ROI is not being achieved
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure coordinated, member-centric communications and outreach
- Support execution of lifecycle membership marketing and broader association marketing efforts, including learning, events, legislative initiatives, and general communications
Data & Reporting
- Own the individual membership budget, both revenue and expenses, for retention and acquisition efforts
- Maintain accurate member records and interaction notes in the CRM or AMS
- Monitor engagement trends and flag potential risks or opportunities
Qualifications & Experience
- 3-5 years of experience in membership, account management, or relationship-based roles (association or nonprofit experience preferred)
- Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to engage confidently with senior-level members and volunteers
- Experience working cross-functionally and coordinating with external partners or agencies
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Highly organized, responsive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities
- Experience working with CRM or AMS platforms (experience with Aptify and/or FreshWorks a plus)
- Comfort representing an organization externally and building industry presence
