Ohio Cattlemen’s Association to Host Calving Clinic and Youth Prepared Speaking Competition
The Ohio Cattlemen's Association's (OCA) calving clinic will be held at the new Multispecies Animal Learning Complex (MALC), the latest building to be completed on the CFAES Waterman Ag and Natural Resources Laboratory, a 261-acre facility located near the OSU main campus.
OCA members will be the first group to attend a meeting at the MALC, and tour the new complex. The calving clinic is designed to assist you in preparation for calving and getting newborn calves off to a healthy start. Calving clinic featured presenters will include Alvaro Garcia-Guerra, Ph.D., OSU Department of Animal Sciences and Seth Clark, Merck Animal Health. The afternoon will alternate groups between use of the calving simulator and tours of the MALC. OCA members may attend for free, while non-member cost will be $100 per family.
Held in conjunction with the calving clinic, will be the next stockmanship contest, prepared speaking, available for all youth between the ages of 8-21, registration required. These contests are coordinated by the Ohio Beef Youth Council and sponsored by Ag Credit.
