Ohio-SEE Program to Expand Statewide with $25 Million in Federal Funding

News,

The Ohio Student Eye Exam Program, known as Ohio-SEE, will expand statewide next school year after receiving an additional $25 million annually from the federal Rural Health Transformation Fund.

The program, currently operating as a pilot in 15 counties, including Franklin County, provides free eye exams and glasses to students who may not otherwise have access to vision care.

Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Administrator Mehmet Oz joined Gov. Mike DeWine at Hopewell Elementary School in Dublin to celebrate the expansion. During the event, 12 students received free eyeglasses through the program.
