The Gerrymandering Wars Show Every CEO Exactly What Not to Do

The Missouri Supreme Court just unanimously upheld a Republican-drawn congressional map that slices Kansas City into pieces. Its Democratic voters are now scattered across 14 rural counties, handing the GOP a projected 7-1 congressional advantage.

It’s part of a sweeping national escalation. Republicans have redrawn maps in Texas, North Carolina, Missouri, Florida and elsewhere. Democrats fired back in California while Virginia’s Supreme Court blocked the Democratic map in its state. According to Axios, Republicans appear to have already won the 2026 redistricting wars. Their gerrymanders in Florida and Texas alone more than cancel out the Democratic gains in California. 

Both parties increasingly view aggressive redistricting as a competitive necessity, even when the long-term institutional costs are cause for concern for the nation and its constituents.
