The Most Important AI Opportunity Isn't Efficiency—It's Human Possibility
Much of the conversation around artificial intelligence focuses on productivity. How many hours can be saved? Which tasks can be automated? How much faster can we work?
Those are valid questions, but I don't think they capture what is truly changing. The biggest opportunity AI offers isn't speed. It's the ability to do things we simply couldn't do before.
I realized this during a recent conversation with my husband. He's an engineer and was telling me how AI had transformed the way he works. Problems that used to require days of calculations or simulations can now be solved in less than an hour. At first, I thought he was describing a change in engineering. Then it struck me that the exact same thing had happened to me.
