Can I tell you a story?

Every summer, my three kids head off to camp for a month. No phones. No FaceTime. Just old-fashioned letters and emails. I send plenty of both, complete with terrible dad jokes that I am convinced improve with age, even if my kids would strongly disagree.

Long before they leave, though, another date is already circled on my calendar: the day they come home.
