BWC Reminder: Public Employer True-up Looming

The Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation (BWC) recently announced that, for public employers, true-up will be available beginning Jan. 1, 2026; it is due by Feb. 28, 2026.

There is no grace period for true-up as of Jan. 1, 2026. This applies to true-up for policy year Jan. 1, 2025, and moving forward.

The first installment for policy year Jan. 1 to Dec. 31, 2026, will be billed Nov. 28, 2025, with a due date of Dec. 22, 2025.

To receive the 2 percent early payment discount the full 12-month estimated premium for the policy year must be paid on or before Jan. 2, 2026. You cannot deduct the discount in advance.
