Governor DeWine Says Bomb Threats Referencing Haitian Immigrants Prompts Closures in Springfield,

News,

Governor Mike DeWine said bomb threats in Springfield referencing Haitian immigrants prompted part of downtown to be blocked off and schools to close early on Monday.

According to the governor, Clark County offices received bomb threats around 7:45 a.m., referencing that Haitian immigrants need to get out. The threats reportedly specified county buildings and schools. Springfield City Schools closed early for the day. DeWine said suspicious packages were found at the county municipal court and public safety building in Springfield. Part of downtown was partially closed, but has since reopened. The city said the threats were not credible.

“Law enforcement has to take this very seriously. This is a despicable act. This has caused kids to miss a whole day of school,” DeWine said during an unrelated press conference in South Vienna.
