Sugar Sold at Target and Other Retailers Recalled in 8 States, including Ohio

Nearly 2 million pounds of sugar is being recalled across eight states, including Ohio, because it could be contaminated with wheat kernel, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

The recalled sugar includes light brown sugar and powdered sugar sold by Target and other retailers.

On Sept. 21, the FDA labeled the recall as a Class II, meaning exposure "may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote."
